Mobile app design
This project focus on improving the current app by redesigning UI and simplifying the ordering process.
Project goal
Redesign a visually pleasant UI and shortening the ordering process.
Problems
Outdated design lead to poor user experience
Three users reported that the process felt too lengthy
The original ordering process required users to go through 8 steps to complete an order every time , which may lead to user frustration and abandonment.
More than half of the users reported that the design can be improved
Inconsistency in text buttons, colours, icons, and alignment can be found throughout the current design.
Design solution
Remove repetitive steps
Introducing onboarding process for faster ordering process
When users launch the app for the first time, it asks the users to select a payment method and default store
This allows users to only set it one time thus shortening the original ordering process from 8 to 4 steps.
Implement design system to ensure consistent and cohesive UI element
With design system, I was able to centralise UI decisions, ensuring that all screens adhered to the same design language.
